~~~~WE ARE SO HAPPY~~~~~
We started 6 months ago getting excited about driving around the world doing good and having a lot of dogs and planting gardens everywhere and doing yoga everywhere and just dancing our faces off.... And then we realized that maybe that wouldn't work. So we modified and adapted our journey and came up with something that FEELS a lot better to raise money for and we call it Project Discover.
Our Indiegogo fundraiser is officially over at this point and we are so amazed at our friends' generosity and kindness throughout the process. It's not easy to ask for money, but we were constantly adapting our "pitch" and finding more and more things helpful in our ask (like LoaTree's first real media on us!)
***Even though donating is over through Indiegogo, people can still "donate" through the "add to cart" option on our homepage of this website! We've got a $10, $25, $50 and $100 option, but if you would like to send a different amount just contact us and we will make it work. :)
We sure do have a lot to be grateful for throughout this process. We want to thank everyone who has let us tell them about our trip, who has donated, or who has provided verbal or written support for what we're doing.
Q: What are we doing?
A: We are going on a sustainable road trip around the US to discover and interview resilient communities.
Q: Who are you?
A: Great question. Not sure if we have a complete answer to that, but in short we're two recent UCSB Environmental Studies graduates with a passion to see the country and to make a difference.
Q: Where are you going?
A: Still being worked out... but to as many communities as we can to get a whole bunch of information about who they are and what they do.
Q: When are you leaving?
A: In about one month! Cassie will finish work and Molly's summer lease in the co-ops will end mid-September. We're making our decision about a vehicle Sept 1 though!
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: Also a very in depth answer, with a lot of different components, but in short because we're frustrated, flustered, don't want to get caught up in something here that won't let us take a several month sustainajourney once we're committed... AND because we know there are wonderful people doing incredible things all over the country, and we'd like to show them off.
That's all for now lovely followers. We shall post again soon! <3
